Proxy Mail QA

Testing referral programmes and welcome offers

A referral needs at least two accounts your app has never seen, and a welcome offer needs a brand-new customer every time. Testing the rules properly also means trying to break them, on your own staging site.

Updated

The accounts you need

Account Part in the test What it checks
Referrer An existing customer who shares their link The referral link or invite email, and the reward when a friend qualifies
Friend Signs up from the link Arrives with the referral applied and gets the friend’s offer
Second friend Signs up from the same link Rewards add up, or stop at the cap
Self-referral The referrer’s own second account Caught by your rules: no reward
New customer Signs up with no link Gets the welcome offer, once
Repeat claim A customer who tries the welcome code again Refused, with a clear message

Set them up

  1. Create the set in one go: choose Add account, set How many, label the batch “Referrals” and tick Generate persona.
  2. Sign up the referrer first and copy their referral link.
  3. Sign up each friend from the link in a private window, so no session or cookie carries over.
  4. Note on each address who referred it and what it should get, for example “Referred by k3f9 · expect £10 credit after first order”.

What to check

The emails to check

The invite email if your app sends one, the friend’s welcome offer, “your friend joined”, “you’ve earned a reward” and reward-expiry reminders. A promo code in an email is picked out with a Copy button, ready for checkout, and the inbox shows the full email with every link.

Use these accounts only to test a referral programme or offer you run or are allowed to test, in development, staging or QA.

Questions

Can I use this to claim offers on other sites?

No. Creating accounts to collect sign-up bonuses or referral rewards from services you don't own is fraud, and it breaks our terms. These accounts are for testing your own programme in development, staging or QA.

Why do I need new addresses each time?

Most programmes reward first-time customers only, so an address that has already signed up can't test the new-customer path again. Every Proxy Mail QA address is new and has never received mail, like a real new user's.

What if my app blocks disposable email domains?

Then it may block ours too, which is worth knowing. On your staging site, allow mailclub.dev and enable.li so the rest of the flow can be tested, and test the blocking rule on its own.
